The grey wolf (Canis lupus) is a social preditor that hunt in packs. The pack is led by a mated pair who monopolises food and hold "breeding rights" in the pack.

Wolves primarily feed on hoofed animals, such as deer, antilope, and caribou. They hunt prey in a group, in which each member have a specific postition. The pack will chase the animal distances to wear it down, then finish it. The pack may enjoy their feast there, but usually bring back food for the pups and mother at the den,
